Walsh Bay Arts & Commerce was established in 2007 to represent the business interests of the vibrant Walsh Bay community. Harnessing the collective resources of its members, WBAC strives to grow the commercial sustainability of the precinct by leading on marketing and publicity initiatives that achieve results for the precinct. WBAC is working on strengthening communication to ensure its members are kept abreast of latest news and networking opportunities. And WBAC advocates on behalf of its members, establishing itself as the voice and primary advocate for business in Walsh Bay.

Kim Mahaffy is the general manager at Pier One Sydney Harbour, the inaugural Australian property in Marriot’s Autograph Collection of international luxury hotels. Kim's experience across Australia and South East Asia, most recently in Hong Kong, brings Pier One Sydney Harbour a solid international foundation of hotel knowledge and global understanding of guest expectations at the luxury level. Known and respected within the Marriott International Group, she has a reputation for creating unique guest experiences, inspiring her staff to constantly improve and refresh the entire guest interaction and finesse the details.

Lachlan began his career in the arts as a professional dancer working primarily with Leigh Warren & Dancers and the Sydney Dance Company. In 2014, Lachlan Moved into the role of Company Manager at Bangarra Dance Theatre, a position he still holds and is soon to cross over to the role of Development Coordinator. Lachlan recently completed his Masters of Arts Management through Australian Institute of Music (AIM) focusing his dissertation on the emotional and neurological effects of observing dance.

WBAC contracts Tina Irving to generate exposure opportunities for Walsh Bay, focused specifically on promoting our member base and ’the unique destination experience’ of Walsh Bay, as Sydney’s Harbourside Arts & Dining Hub. A content writer and public relations specialist with vast experience in destination marketing, Tina can facilitate introductions to other members, assist with publicity support, and discuss ways to get involved with Walsh Bay promotions, events and marketing activations; including our famil program, targeting Sydney media, concierges and city ambassadors.

Hickson Rd has metered parking up to a maximum of 4 hours and cost $4.40 per hour before 6pm and $2.20 per hour between 6pm-10pm (be sure to bring change). 

Paid off street parking can be found at Interpark Bond Store One 26 Hickson Road Walsh Bay (next door to the Sydney Theatre Company) and at Wilsons Parking Towns Place on the corner of Towns Place and Hickson Road at Walsh Bay. More information below...

By Ferry and Train

  • Ferry and train services operate to and from The Rocks and Circular Quay. Walsh Bay is a 15-20 minute walk from Circular Quay.
  • New Night Bus Service linking Town Hall and Wynyard Stations
  • The State Government has introduced an evening bus service linking Hickson Road with Town Hall Station via Wynyard. Route 998 runs from 9pm to 4.30am every Friday and Saturday night. Buses run every 30 minutes and there is a bus stop on Hickson Road outside Pier 4/5.
