Despite less than ideal weather, a good showing of WBAC members and friends braved torrential rain to attend the first annual networking event at View by Sydney’s stunning harbourside venue.

Demonstrating strong interest in networking initiatives, 80 per cent of all WBAC membership RSVP-ed to attend the event along with five potential new members looking to build relations in the precinct. The evening was particularly well represented by arts companies including Bell Shakespeare - due to move into Pier 2 after redevelopment works.

Talking of networking, a number of guests made promising connections on the night including new member MTM Legal and recruitment company Realisation, arts companies ATYP with Sydney Writers’ Festival while established local collaborators We Love Jam and Pier One used the evening to catch up.

Along with the ‘business’ side of the event, guests were treated to drinks and a sample of View by Sydney’s delicious catering menu including a delightful selection of cheeses, fruits, seafood and skewers as well as quality red and white wine.

All food and wine served was a preview of what the venue offers as part of its ‘Corporate Events by The Sea’ packages. These tailored delegate event options include room hire and a variety of menus (including dinner) and starting at $72/head - a great idea for conferences, brainstorming, training days and the like.

WBAC’s Brigid Kennedy along with representatives from View by Sydney made short speeches to welcome guests and underline the importance of attending chamber networking evenings to encourage productive collaborations in the precinct.
