Showcasing Chippendale’s creative passion and depth, the first Saturday of each month marks Chippendale Creative Precinct’s (CCP) free, guided tours of exhibition spaces and arts destinations in the local area.

The CCP, headed up by Kensington Street’s creative director, Nicky Ginsberg, is a non-profit organisation that aims to celebrate and develop the lifestyle and culture of Chippendale. The group’s free gallery walking tours are a regular, monthly initiative that aim to help transform the precinct into a thriving cultural destination.

This month we profile one of Sydney’s foremost culinary talents based at The Langham Sydney, Bistro Remy’s Executive Chef, Dave Whitting.

Prior to taking up his present role, Chef Whitting was responsible for the new menu at the acclaimed Subiaco Hotel in WA and was head chef at Bistro Guillaume in Perth. He also had stints at triple Michelin starred Le Bernardin in New York along with Sydney institutions Bistro Moncur and Jonah’s Whale Beach.

From the outset Franco Belgiorno-Nettis' vision for the arts in Australia was ahead of its time. After founding Transfield in 1956 he initiated the Transfield Art Prize in 1961, in its day the most valuable acquisitive contemporary art prize in Australia.
